Our visit

We wanted to sail on the Ria Formosa natural park and opted for the 1 hour tour with the company Lands. It’s not meant as advertisement – we haven’t tested any other of the other boat companies, so you should of course do your own research on the 3-4 different ones to choose from. We picked this boat because it is silent (sun-powered) and small (limited size of the group). They offer different tours but went for the short one as we were concerned on how the kids would react. The sea was very calm as the geographic structure of the Ria Formosa stops most of the waves – so calm that the kids fell asleep! We paid 60 € in total for 2 adults and 2 children. The tour was very peaceful but somehow uneventful, and well described by an old Spanish lady when leaving the boat: it was ‘tranquil’.
